Paramedics evacuated numerous fatalities and casualties from the al-Awda Hospital after an airstrike hit the home of the Shehadeh family near the Nuseirat refugee camp, medical officials confirmed. Another body was recovered at the Arab al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza City following an attack in the vicinity of the al-Mujama' al-Islami Mosque in the Sabra neighborhood.
These latest casualties bring the death toll in Gaza to 33 since the early hours of Friday, part of Israel's ongoing military campaign that has intensified since October 7.
Israel's genocidal aggression continues despite a legally binding decision by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which ordered a halt to military actions in Rafah, citing potential violations of Israel's obligations under the Genocide Convention.
Since the start of the conflict, over 40,878 Palestinians have been killed and more than 94,454 injured. Humanitarian organizations, both Palestinian and international, report that the majority of casualties are women and children.
The conflict has also displaced nearly two million people across Gaza, with most of the displaced seeking refuge in the southern city of Rafah near the Egyptian border. This mass displacement marks the largest exodus in Palestine since the 1948 Nakba.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza remains dire as the aggression shows no signs of abating. (ILKHA)
