The strike targeted a 12-story residential building in Kharkiv's Industrialnyi district, triggering a fire and resulting in at least three deaths, according to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov. Additional attacks struck the Nemyshlianskyi district, where a 14-year-old girl was killed, Kharkiv Oblast Governor Oleh Syniehubov confirmed.
Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported that 22 children were among the injured. The injured include 20 individuals in serious or "extremely serious" condition, Syniehubov added.
Russian forces also targeted downtown Kharkiv and the Slobidskyi district, damaging a warehouse building and three houses. Rescue operations are ongoing, with concerns that more people may be trapped on the upper floors of the hit building. In the evening, the body of a woman was recovered from the rubble, bringing the death toll to seven. (ILKHA)
