Turkish coast guard rescues 38 migrants pushed back by Greek forces

The Turkish Coast Guard Command has rescued 38 irregular migrants who were forcibly pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements.

In separate incidents off the coasts of Muğla and İzmir, the migrants were brought ashore safely.

In addition to the rescue operations, the Coast Guard Command also apprehended 59 irregular migrants and arrested two suspected migrant smugglers.

The apprehended migrants were subsequently transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for further processing.

This incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by Türkiye in managing migration flows and dealing with the tactics employed by neighboring countries. (ILKHA)
