The attacks targeted southern Lebanon and extended to the Bekaa Valley in the east.

The ministry's report detailed that 84% of those injured were males, with 93% being Lebanese nationals. Additionally, 53% of the injuries occurred in individuals under the age of 44. The report also specified the causes of injuries: 42% were due to shock, 43% resulted from explosions, and 15% were linked to chemical exposure.

As of Friday, the conflict has led to the displacement of 110,099 people within the country.

Tensions between Lebanon and Israel escalated on October 8, 2023, following a rocket barrage launched by Hezbollah from Lebanon toward Israel in support of Hamas' attack on Israel the previous day. In response, Israel fired heavy artillery at southeastern Lebanon.

The situation intensified further when Israel targeted Beirut's southern suburbs, killing Hezbollah senior military commander Fouad Shokor along with seven civilians. Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah has since vowed a "definite and painful response" to the Israeli raid at a time and place of his choosing. (ILKHA)
