The ministry clarified that the actual number of Syrian refugees who have acquired Turkish citizenship is 238,768.

The General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs addressed the allegations made in a recent television program, emphasizing that the figure of 2.5 million is completely false and unfounded. The ministry provided the breakdown of the citizenship recipients, stating that 134,624 are adults and 104,144 are children.

The ministry further highlighted that since the formation of the new cabinet, only 183 Syrian nationals have been granted citizenship, including 101 adults and 82 children.

The Interior Ministry urged the public to disregard the misleading information and rely solely on official figures released by the ministry. (ILKHA)
