His comments came in response to a recent statement by the European Troika—Britain, Germany, and France—regarding regional developments.

Kanaani emphasized that Iran is determined to contribute to establishing lasting stability in the region and act as a deterrent against the primary sources of terrorism and insecurity. He criticized the European Troika's stance, particularly in the context of ongoing violence against Palestinians, accusing Israel of committing genocidal acts and war crimes with the tacit approval of Western nations.

The spokesman condemned the European Troika's request for Iran to refrain from retaliatory actions following the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran two weeks ago. He argued that such demands lack political logic, violate international laws, and encourage continued acts of violence and genocide.

Kanaani also highlighted the critical humanitarian situation in Gaza, criticizing the United Nations and the Security Council for their inaction in preventing what he described as Israel's ongoing crimes against humanity.

He called on the European nations to take a stand against what he termed the "adventurism" of Israel and to work towards ending the conflict in Gaza, including the killing of civilians. The joint statement by the European Troika had urged an immediate cessation of hostilities and the release of all hostages, while also calling for urgent humanitarian aid to be delivered to Gaza.

Kanaani noted that Israel's fear and anxiety have escalated following the assassination of Haniyeh, with Iranian and Hezbollah forces promising decisive retaliation. Security measures in Tel Aviv have been heightened, including the evacuation of intelligence and security agencies, due to concerns over potential retaliatory attacks. (ILKHA)
