Bou Habib raised the possibility of the attack being carried out by an unidentified group, an Israeli error, or a mistake by Hezbollah. He called for an international investigation or a tripartite meeting under the auspices of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) to determine the truth.
While Hezbollah has denied involvement, Bou Habib emphasized Lebanon's condemnation of civilian targeting and warned that a major Israeli attack on Lebanon could ignite a regional war.
The Lebanese foreign minister stressed the importance of fully implementing UN Resolution 1701, which ended the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war. He cautioned that any Israeli aggression against Lebanon would escalate tensions and potentially lead to a wider conflict. (ILKHA)
