Russian Mi-28 helicopter crashes in Kaluga region, crew killed

An Mi-28 military helicopter crashed in an uninhabited area of southwestern Russia on Thursday, killing all crew members on board.

The cause of the crash is believed to be a technical malfunction, according to a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry cited by Interfax news agency. The TASS news agency, quoting a ministry source, confirmed the crash and fatalities.

The helicopter went down in a forest located approximately 150 kilometers (93 miles) from the border with Ukraine. Rescue crews are at the scene. (ILKHA)
