According to reports from the New York Post, Crooks had previously tried to join the shooting team at his high school, Bethel Park, but was rejected due to being a "terrible" shot and making "off-color" jokes.

Thomas Matthew Crooks was fatally shot by Secret Service agents after he fired an AR-style rifle at Trump, injuring him in the right ear. The attack resulted in the death of one person and left two others critically injured.

Media sources highlighted that Crooks had no prior criminal record, and authorities are currently investigating the motive behind his attempt to assassinate Trump.

Multiple federal agencies are actively involved in the investigation, with law enforcement officials treating the shooting as an attempted assassination.

Meanwhile, on Monday, the Republican Party officially nominated Trump as its candidate for the upcoming U.S. presidential election.

Trump, appearing at the Republican Party conference in Milwaukee, sported a bandage on his injured ear, symbolizing the aftermath of the attempted assassination. (ILKHA)
