The Government Media Office stated that the hospital's closure was part of an Israeli strategy to shut down hospitals and medical centers, aiming to cripple the health sector. The hospital, which had been shut since December 2023, resumed its activities today.

In their statement, the office expressed profound gratitude for the exceptional efforts of the medical teams who have tirelessly served the Palestinian people since the onset of the genocide. The office also thanked the medical, governmental, civil, charitable, and volunteer teams that contributed to the hospital’s reopening.

Al-Ahli Arab Baptist Hospital had been closed following a series of assaults, a siege, and the detention of medical personnel by the occupying army. A significant attack on October 17, 2023, resulted in the death of approximately 500 people and injured 342 more. (ILKHA)
