Fidan highlighted the atrocity that occurred 29 years ago, where thousands were slaughtered in the heart of Europe while the world watched. “The Srebrenica Genocide continues to remain in our memories as a dark stain on human history,” he stated.

He also referenced Türkiye’s recent decision to declare July 11 as the “International Day of Reflection and Remembrance of the Srebrenica Genocide,” as announced through a presidential decree published in the Official Gazette on Wednesday. “With the awareness of ‘Whatever you do, do not forget the genocide,’ we will commemorate July 11 every year in our country as the ‘International Day of Reflection and Remembrance of the Srebrenica Genocide,’” Fidan wrote.

In his concluding remarks, Fidan expressed his condolences, stating, “I remember our martyred brothers and sisters with mercy and wish condolences and patience to their families.” (ILKHA)
