Yakup Kaya, a member of the Board of Directors of the foundation, delivered the message, beginning with praises to Allah and salutations to the Prophet. He emphasized the Hijrah not merely as a geographical migration but as a profound prophetic journey that reshaped the course of human history. "Hijrah is a testament to the Prophet's steadfastness against oppression and his quest for justice," Kaya remarked, highlighting its role as the pivotal event that marks the start of the Islamic calendar.

Kaya elaborated on the Hijrah's significance in fostering Islamic unity, particularly through the Muhajir / Ansar brotherhood, which emerged as a model of solidarity amidst adversity. "This brotherhood, forged in the face of persecution, has been a cornerstone of Muslim resilience throughout history," he added.

Reflecting on contemporary challenges, Kaya criticized what he described as attempts by Western-influenced administrations to diminish the observance of the Hijri calendar in favor of the Gregorian calendar. He lamented how this shift has eroded Muslim historical consciousness, urging a revival of the Hijri calendar's prominence to preserve Islamic identity and heritage.

"We must reclaim the narrative of our history," Kaya asserted, "and reinforce Islamic brotherhood to reclaim freedom in territories burdened by conflict and occupation." He stressed the importance of upholding the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah to prevent divisions among Muslims over historical interpretations and minor issues.

Addressing recent racial tensions and discriminatory acts, Kaya expressed solidarity with victims of racist crimes and called for collective vigilance against such injustices. "In this new Hijri year, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to the entire Islamic Ummah," he concluded, "with hopes that Allah Almighty guides us towards unity, justice, and the restoration of our true Islamic essence."

The foundation's message comes amid ongoing efforts globally to preserve Islamic cultural heritage and foster interfaith dialogue, emphasizing the enduring relevance of Hijrah's principles in contemporary challenges facing Muslim communities worldwide. (ILKHA)
