In a statement released on Friday, Dinç responded to the Energy Market Regulatory Authority’s (EMRA) announcement of a 38% increase for household electricity and a 30% increase for agriculture.

Dinç argued that these hikes would exacerbate inflation and further strain citizens' finances. "With citizens' purchasing power already declining, the 38% increase in household electricity will only fuel inflation," he stated.

He also highlighted the negative impact on agriculture, noting that the 30% increase for agricultural subscribers would inevitably lead to higher costs for agricultural products. "This will worsen the plight of citizens," Dinç added. "This decision will burden both citizens and farmers."

Dinç's comments raise concerns about the wider economic impact of the electricity price hikes, as households and farmers grapple with escalating costs amid challenging economic conditions. (ILKHA)
