Haneyya: Targeting my family won't change resistance's stance on ceasefire

Haneyya’s sister was among 13 people killed early Tuesday in an Israeli assault on the Shati refugee camp. In his statement, Haneyya declared: “If the criminal enemy thinks targeting my family will change our position or that of the resistance, they are delusional.”

He reiterated that any ceasefire proposal failing to ensure an end to Israel’s offensive in Gaza would be unacceptable. “The movement provided all possible flexibility, and agreed without hesitation to all the projects that were proposed, provided that the result would be a cessation of crimes, an end to the aggression, and a complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip,” Haneyya stated.

This incident follows a tragic event last April, when three of Haneyya’s sons—Hazem, Amir, and Muhammad—and three of his grandchildren were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting a civilian car in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City.

Haneyya’s remarks underscore the steadfastness of Hamas’s position amidst ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza and the complex negotiations surrounding the ceasefire. (ILKHA)
