Turkish Foreign Ministry welcomes UNSC resolution on Gaza ceasefire

The Turkish Foreign Ministry has issued a press release regarding the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2735, adopted on Monday, which aims to establish a ceasefire in Gaza.

"We consider the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2735, adopted on 10 June, which aims to bring about a ceasefire in Gaza, as an important step towards putting an end to the massacre," the ministry stated.

The ministry also welcomed Hamas' constructive and positive approach to the ceasefire plan. It emphasized the necessity for Israel to announce its commitment to implementing a permanent ceasefire and to fully adhere to all elements of the resolution.

"Türkiye will continue to contribute to the steps that will ensure a permanent end to the war, Israel's withdrawal from all of Gaza, the mutual release of hostages and prisoners, the return of displaced Palestinians to Gaza, the uninterrupted and adequate delivery of humanitarian aid, and the reconstruction of Gaza," the ministry concluded.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry's statement highlights Türkiye's ongoing commitment to supporting efforts that will lead to a lasting peace and stability in the region. (ILKHA)
