The event aimed not only to provide fun and entertainment for children receiving report cards but also to raise awareness about the ongoing situation in Palestine.

Taking place at the Fatih Mimar Sinan Stadium, the festival saw the participation of children from 39 districts of Istanbul along with their families. Organized by the IHH (Humanitarian Relief Foundation), the event featured various attractions, including inflatable playgrounds, traditional games, and activity areas. Attendees were also treated to popcorn, coffee, and other refreshments.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, the program included entertaining performances such as Nasreddin Hodja and Karagöz Hacivat shows, choreography, acrobatics, and more. Hasan Örence, Istanbul Orphan Unit Coordinator, emphasized the dual purpose of the event, stating, “We named our event as ‘2024 Gaza Brotherhood Festival’ because our event is not just entertainment but an awareness event."

Örence further elaborated: “We will think while having fun, we will remember the pain of our brothers and sisters in the oppressed geography. There will be playgrounds, refreshments, stage shows, and many activities. In this way, we will endeavor to ensure that our entrusted children have a good time."

The festival, which continued until 19:00 p.m., aimed to provide a joyful experience while fostering empathy and understanding among the young participants. (ILKHA)
