Thousands rally in Diyarbakır for Gaza, urge support for genocide law

The law aims to punish Turkish citizens involved in genocide crimes committed by Zionist forces and facilitate the prosecution of those responsible.

The event, organized by the Prophet’s Lovers Foundation, featured a rally at Yenihal Köprülü intersection in Diyarbakır's Kayapınar district. Vedat Turgut, a member of the HÜDA PAR General Administrative Board, delivered a press statement emphasizing the persistent support from Diyarbakır residents and criticizing the silence of leaders from 57 Islamic countries regarding the atrocities in Gaza.

Turgut said: "Tonight we will talk about the atrocity of the century, the honor, the resistance, and the revolution. But before that, I would like to thank my fellow Diyarbakır residents who have not left the squares since the first day of the massacre, organized rallies, organized convoys of vehicles on the streets of Diyarbakır reminding the streets of Gaza, held indefinite sessions, shed tears, prayed, boycotted, and supported. Al-Qassam Brigades and the other mujahideen in the tunnels were informed of this stance."

Turgut noted the devastating toll of the conflict, with approximately 50,000 martyrs and more than 100,000 wounded over the past eight months, along with the destruction of hundreds of thousands of homes. "Houses have been destroyed like an earthquake more than the earthquake in Adıyaman, Kahramanmaraş, and Hatay. The elderly, women, youth, and young children were slaughtered alive," he said.

Turgut condemned the role of global powers, including the USA, Britain, and France, in supporting what he called the "savage Zionist terrorist network." "This atrocity of the century, together with the savage Zionist terrorist network, all the world's world powers still continue this cruelty with the USA, Britain, France, and their collaborating pawns, so-called Muslims," he added.

Emphasizing the historical significance of the ongoing resistance, Turgut invoked comparisons to past struggles, stating that the actions of the Al-Qassam Brigades and other fighters symbolize the justice of Islam. "While the atrocities and atrocities of the century were being committed, the honor of the century emerged as an example of a qiyam. In history, they may be called Ashab-ı Uhdud or Hazrat Hussein's friends in Karbala or Ashab-ı Kehf who spoke the word of truth in the face of the cruel sultan," Turgut said.

He urged Islamic leaders to sever ties with Israel and stop trade with companies complicit in the oppression. "If you want to stop being a partner in oppression, terminate the agreements of those companies," Turgut urged. "Can't the UCAVs sent to Azerbaijan and the soldiers sent to Libya drop 3 or 5 bombs on the Zionists? Let's put an end to this mistake and stop recognizing Israel as a state while regret is still useful. We, the people, will continue to be in the squares, boycott, and help."

Fatih Taş, speaking on behalf of the Prophet’s Lovers Foundation, reiterated the need for global Muslim solidarity and action. He stressed that the cause of Jerusalem is a collective responsibility for all Muslims and that significant international support is growing. "Stating that the genocide and brutality in Gaza, which started after the Aqsa flood, has been going on uninterruptedly for eight months, Taş said that on one side there is the most horrible massacre and genocide recorded in history; on the other side there is the honorable resistance of a handful of mujahideen, the honorable people," Taş said.

Taş continued: "In the face of this grave scene, we have to question our situation as an ummah and see what is happening. It seems that if we continue in this state, we will have the shame and disgrace in the Gaza test. It is meaningless and unnecessary to console ourselves. Let us not take a share from the history-making tables of honor and resistance of the Gaza and Palestinian mujahideen, nor from the efforts and struggles of the Yemeni braves who mobilized their limited means in the cause of Al-Aqsa and Al-Quds, nor from the efforts and struggles of the Lebanese people and other resistance soldiers who put up effective resistance."

Taş called on the Turkish government and political parties to enact measures cutting off logistical support to Zionists and to support the proposed bill in Parliament. He urged the public to participate in a signature campaign to endorse this legislation. "Support the enactment of the bill submitted to the Parliament by HUDAPAR, which envisages the punishment of Turkish citizens who participate in the crime of genocide in the Zionist atrocities and facilitates the trial of the genocide criminals of the Zionist murderers. Our people should also support the signature campaign to be held regarding the bill in question," Taş said.

Both Turgut and Taş emphasized that watching oppression without action is equivalent to supporting the oppressors. "Watching the oppression is support for the oppressor! Consent to oppression is oppression! We greet you all with the peace of Allah, hoping that Allah will protect us from supporting the oppressors," Taş concluded.

The rally underscored the ongoing solidarity and activism in Diyarbakır, with local leaders and residents determined to maintain pressure and support for Gaza amid the prolonged conflict.
