HRW's investigation verified that Israeli forces used white phosphorus munitions in multiple locations, including five municipalities where airburst munitions were unlawfully deployed over populated residential areas. This action has significantly endangered civilian lives.

The report also highlighted that the use of white phosphorus has contributed to the displacement of civilians from their homes in southern Lebanon. According to international humanitarian law, using airburst white phosphorus in populated areas is considered unlawfully indiscriminate.

HRW's findings emphasize the urgent need for stronger international regulations on incendiary weapons, pointing to the extensive use of white phosphorus by Israeli forces as a critical issue. (ILKHA)
