Chinese Vice President meets with Turkish Foreign Minister in Beijing

Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Beijing on Tuesday to discuss the ongoing and deepening relations between China and Türkiye.

During the meeting, Vice President Han emphasized the significance of the friendly exchanges and practical cooperation that have been expanding in various fields between the two nations. He noted that both China and Türkiye, as major developing countries and important emerging markets, share extensive common interests and possess significant potential for further collaboration.

Han Zheng reaffirmed China's commitment to working closely with Türkiye to fully implement the important consensus reached by their heads of state. He stressed the need to enhance political mutual trust and align development strategies to promote high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. Han also highlighted the importance of providing steadfast support to each other in safeguarding their respective core interests, aiming to elevate the strategic cooperation between China and Türkiye to new heights.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan reiterated Türkiye's adherence to the one-China principle and its opposition to any activities that threaten China's territorial integrity. He expressed Türkiye's readiness to strengthen high-level exchanges with China and to enhance practical cooperation across various sectors.
