State news agency SANA reported on Wednesday that Syrian air defense systems were actively repelling a missile attack near Homs in western Syria. An Israeli aggression targeted a residential neighborhood in Baniyas, a city on the Mediterranean coast, causing civilian injuries.
A Syrian military source told SANA that a young girl was killed and ten civilians were injured in the Israeli air raid on Baniyas. "A young girl was martyred, and 10 civilians were injured in an air raid carried out by the Israeli occupation on the city of Baniyas," the source stated. The attack, conducted on Wednesday evening, targeted both a site in the central region and a residential building in Baniyas.
The source added that the Israeli aggression was carried out from Lebanese territory, implicating Israel in violating the sovereignty of both Syria and Lebanon. This act is part of a pattern of aggression, with Israel frequently breaching Syrian airspace and conducting bombings.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates reiterated its unconditional support for the Palestinians, calling on the international community to condemn the "fascist Israeli massacres." The Ministry described the onslaught on Rafah as a continuation of the Zionist government's genocidal and expansionist policies, which have led to the deaths of over 35,000 Palestinians, including 16,000 children.
The Ministry's statement emphasized that the destruction in Gaza, supported by US and Western weapons, has resulted in mass graves reminiscent of Nazi fascist practices. The attack on Baniyas is part of a broader context of violence and occupation in the region. (ILKHA)
