The demonstrators called on the US government to halt its funding of Israel's military operations in the Gaza Strip.

Supported by various pro-Palestine groups, including the Palestinian Youth Movement, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, and Maryland for Palestine, the protest saw participants carrying banners with slogans such as "Free Palestine," "End All US Funding of Israeli Apartheid," "All Eyes on Rafah," and "Stop This Slaughter."

Chants of "Stop bombing Rafah now" and "End the occupation now" echoed through the crowd as protesters voiced their opposition to the ongoing violence in Gaza.

The protest was prompted by an Israeli airstrike on a tent camp for displaced Palestinians in Rafah, which resulted in the deaths of at least 45 people and left nearly 250 wounded, according to the Gaza-based Government Media Office.

The strike targeted a location near the logistics base of the UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) in Tal al-Sultan, intensifying international condemnation of Israel's actions in the region. (ILKHA)
