The meeting, called for by Algeria, will be a closed-door consultation focusing on the situation in Rafah. The attack on Sunday targeted a camp for displaced civilians, predominantly affecting women and children, and has drawn widespread international condemnation.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres denounced the strike, stating: "There is no safe place in Gaza. This horror must stop." His comments reflect the global outrage and the urgent calls for action following what many Arab nations and Palestinians are calling a massacre.

The UNSC meeting aims to address the escalating violence and find ways to protect civilians amidst the ongoing conflict. (ILKHA)
