The PRCS reported that the death toll increased after one of its ambulance crews reached another victim in the al-Hadaf neighborhood of Jenin City. The PRCS also noted that 21 citizens were injured, some seriously, by Israeli gunfire. The ambulance itself sustained bullet holes after being fired upon by Israeli soldiers, who also stopped the vehicle as it was evacuating a martyr to the hospital.
Fierce clashes have ensued between Israeli forces and resistance fighters from al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas and other armed groups in Jenin since Tuesday morning. The previous evening saw six citizens, including a volunteer paramedic, injured by live ammunition fired by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in Jenin.
The IOF reportedly kidnapped 50-year-old Wafa Jarrar from al-Marah neighborhood in Jenin after ransacking her home and assaulting her family members. Among the wounded was journalist Amr Manasra, who suffered a bullet injury to his back while near the Jenin Hospital.
The violence began on Tuesday morning when Israeli forces stormed Jenin’s streets, opening fire indiscriminately at local residents, killing at least seven civilians, including a doctor, a teacher, and a student. Several students were also among the wounded.
The IOF rampaged through Jenin’s streets, bulldozing public and private property, including roads, cars, and businesses. Israeli snipers took positions in buildings, targeting pedestrians, journalists, paramedics, ambulances, and different vehicles amid drone overflights.
