European Orphan Hand builds water well in Ethiopia to honor Gaza victim

Rim, the namesake of the organization, became a symbol of the genocide after her grandfather's photo of them together went viral. European Orphan Hand is honoring her memory by building a water well in a drought-stricken Ethiopian village.

The organization highlights the struggle for clean water faced by many African communities, particularly those in rural areas. People are forced to travel long distances to access basic necessities, and European Orphan Hand is working to address this challenge.

The organization held a groundbreaking ceremony in the Ethiopian village to mark the start of construction for the "Rim Water Well." The ceremony featured a banner with photos of Rim and her grandfather, carried by local children.

Nizamettin Aygan, a volunteer with European Orphan Hand, expressed the importance of remembering the victims of the Gaza genocide. He spoke of his hope that the well will serve as a lasting tribute to Rim and a source of life for the Ethiopian community.
