Turkish President urges global support for Palestinian state

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan welcomed Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze of Georgia at the Presidential Complex in Ankara.

The two leaders arrived at the ceremonial ground where the national anthems of Türkiye and Georgia were played. Prime Minister Kobakhidze inspected the guard of honor, marking the start of the official proceedings.

Following the introduction of the delegations, Erdoğan and Prime Minister Kobakhidze posed for the press before heading inside for their bilateral meeting and the meeting between delegations at the Presidential Complex.

In a joint press conference with Kobakhidze, Erdoğan made a strong statement in support of the Palestinian people. "All of humankind must support the Palestinian people's struggle for freedom, for which they have paid a hefty price, through law and diplomacy,” he said.

He further added: “All humanity should support the struggle for freedom, for which the Palestinian people have paid a heavy price, on the basis of law and diplomacy. I find the ongoing demonstrations in support of Palestine all over the world very meaningful. I invite the states that have not yet recognized the state of Palestine to do so.”

This visit marks a significant moment in the diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Georgia. (ILKHA)
