The floods, triggered by heavy rains, inflicted widespread destruction in northern provinces, particularly in Baghlan, resulting in over 300 fatalities and 1,600 injuries.

Expressing condolences to the Afghan people, Zakharova conveyed sympathy to the families and friends of the deceased while wishing a swift recovery to the injured.

Reports indicate extensive devastation in numerous villages across northern Afghanistan due to floods and heavy rains, with over 315 fatalities recorded.

Save the Children reported significant impacts in Baghlan, where approximately 80,000 people have been affected and 12,000 homes destroyed.

Recent statistics reveal around 40,000 children in Baghlan have been left homeless as a result of the floods. (ILKHA)
