Ethiopia faces a high prevalence of cataract disease, a condition that clouds the lens of the eye and can lead to blindness.  Due to limited healthcare infrastructure and financial constraints, many Ethiopians cannot afford the treatment.

In a recent mission, European Orphan Hand partnered with Jimma University's Department of Ophthalmology to identify 200 patients who urgently required cataract surgery. The organization, with the support of generous donors, facilitated large-scale surgery clinics with the help of volunteer doctors from Azerbaijan.

By providing the necessary surgical materials and collaborating with skilled medical professionals, European Orphan Hand has restored hope and sight to over 200 Ethiopians. This initiative exemplifies the organization's dedication to improving the lives of those facing poverty and healthcare challenges around the world. (ILKHA)
