Türkiye’s first national combat aircraft, KAAN, successfully completes second flight

Türkiye’s indigenous combat aircraft, KAAN, has successfully completed its second flight, remaining in the air for 14 minutes and reaching an altitude of 10,000 feet. The aircraft had previously completed its first flight on February 21.

Haluk Görgün, the Secretary of Defense Industries of the Republic of Türkiye, released a statement on social media regarding the successful flight. Expressing his gratitude and excitement for witnessing this historic moment, Görgün emphasized that the success of KAAN is the success of the nation’s children.

“This success is the success of the children of our nation. The architect of this success is the will of our President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. May this historic moment be a gift once again to our beautiful country and esteemed nation, with the strength and inspiration we derive from our people!” Görgün stated.

Görgün also took the opportunity to congratulate all those who contributed to the project, especially the engineers at TUSAS, as well as the personnel of all companies and institutions involved.

“I wholeheartedly congratulate all our engineers, pilots, technical teams, and employees who contributed to the project, especially our engineers at TUSAS, as well as the personnel of all companies and institutions involved. With confident strides towards serial production, our skies are in safe hands with our indigenous and national technologies!” Görgün added.
