Domestic traffic at the airport grew by 38%, while international traffic soared by 51%. Over the first four months of 2024, Istanbul Airport has seen a 17% rise in passenger traffic compared to the same period last year.
Sabiha Gökçen Airport also witnessed impressive growth, with a remarkable 59% increase in passenger traffic for April, reaching over 3.3 million passengers. Domestic traffic at the airport surged by 55%, and international traffic climbed by 63%. During the first four months of 2024, Sabiha Gökçen Airport has handled 12.7 million passengers, reflecting a 30% increase year-on-year.
The strong performance of Türkiye's airports highlights the country's growing appeal as a tourist destination and the success of its efforts to revitalize the aviation sector.
