According to a Ministry statement, the militants opened harassing fire in the Euphrates Shield region, prompting Turkish forces to neutralize them with fire support vehicles.

The term "neutralized" is often used by Turkish officials to describe the killing or injuring of militants. The PKK, designated as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the United States, and the European Union, has been engaged in a decades-long insurgency against the Turkish state.

The YPG, the PKK's Syrian affiliate, is a key component of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Türkiye views the YPG as a terror threat due to its links to the PKK. (ILKHA)
