The announcement was made by Tourism Minister Juan Carlos Garcia at the 42nd Cuban International Tourism Fair (FITCuba 2024). The event took place in the picturesque seaside resort of Cayo Coco, located in the province of Ciego de Avila.
According to the latest data from the Cuban Ministry of Tourism, as of April 26, Cuba has already welcomed over 1 million international tourists this year. This is a promising start as the Cuban government has set an ambitious target to attract 3.5 million international tourists in 2024.
As the tourism sector continues to thrive, Cuba remains steadfast in its commitment to enhancing visitor experiences, fostering cultural exchange, and strengthening diplomatic ties with key partners like China. The implementation of the visa-free policy marks a significant milestone in the journey towards realizing Cuba's tourism potential and furthering international cooperation. (ILKHA)
