Students and academics rallied in solidarity, expressing their outrage and support for those affected by the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

The demonstration, held in front of the Faculty of Science, aimed to protest the police violence faced by students and academics who had marched in the United States under the banner of “Support for Gaza.” These brave individuals stood up against the atrocities committed by israel, even as they faced oppression themselves.

Medical student İbrahim Beydüz, speaking on behalf of the students, delivered a passionate address. He highlighted the unprecedented heroic resistance witnessed in the Palestinian territories, where the seemingly insurmountable defense system of israel was pierced. The light of hope now shines on Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, illuminating the struggle for freedom in these sacred places.

However, the world has also borne witness to the barbaric and inhumane attacks carried out by Israel over the past seven months. Hospitals, schools, marketplaces, and civilian settlements have all been targeted, resulting in the tragic loss of thousands of lives. This war extends beyond the conflict between the zionist occupation gang and HAMAS; it involves the complicity of other colonial states, including the United States, Britain, Germany, and France.

Beydüz emphasized that Western nations, despite witnessing these atrocities, have not hesitated to support Israel openly. The US, in particular, continues to supply weapons to the murderous state, perpetuating the suffering in Gaza. Amidst this global crisis, conscientious individuals from diverse backgrounds have risen in protest, condemning Israel’s actions and expressing solidarity with Gaza.

Anti-Zionist demonstrations have intensified across American universities, with nearly 25 leading institutions participating. From Harvard to Yale, California to Texas, students and academics alike have voiced their condemnation of Zionist atrocities while challenging America’s unwavering support for Israel. Palestinian camps have sprung up on campuses, further amplifying the call for justice.

In the spirit of resistance ignited in Gaza, thousands of people of conscience in the USA refuse to remain silent. They demand accountability from their rulers, even as the oppressors persist in their cruelty. Muslim university students from Dicle University in Diyarbakır extend their greetings to the Palestinian protests that began at Columbia University and have now spread across America. Despite facing pro-zionist sentiments and police violence, these students stand unwaveringly in support of the honorable Palestinian resistance.

As the struggle against zionism continues, conscientious people worldwide are urged to unite in the pursuit of justice and goodness, raising their voices against oppression. (ILKHA)
