Turkish economic confidence dips slightly in April

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) released data on Monday showing a slight dip in overall economic confidence in April compared to March 2024.

The index, which stood at 100.0 in March, decreased by 1.0% to 99.0 in April, according to the agency.

However, the report also highlighted positive developments in specific sectors. The consumer confidence index rose by 1.4% to 80.5, indicating a more optimistic outlook among Turkish consumers.

Confidence levels within the real sector (manufacturing) remained unchanged at 103.5.  Meanwhile, the services sector saw a decrease of 2.8% in confidence, bringing the index down to 117.1.

The retail trade sector exhibited a brighter outlook with a 1.9% increase in confidence, reaching 115.5. Construction confidence also held steady at 88.6. (ILKHA)
