Health officials are battling a growing outbreak that has infected over 200 children.

Felix Tangwami, the Adamawa State Commissioner for Health, confirmed the outbreak on Saturday. He stated that medical personnel and medication are being rapidly deployed to affected communities in Mubi.

Children with severe cases will be transferred to hospitals for further treatment.

Tangwami expressed concern about low vaccination rates and blamed parents for refusing to immunize their children, attributing the outbreak to this vaccine hesitancy.

The medical team will be moving from Mubi to address a similar outbreak reported in Gombi Local Government Area. (ILKHA)
