The village in question, Novobakhmutivka, is situated approximately 10 kilometers (6 miles) north of Avdiivka, a city already under Russian control since February.

The statement detailed that Russian troops had occupied "more advantageous positions" in various regions of Ukraine, including Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Luhansk. Additionally, it mentioned strategic improvements along the front line near settlements such as Klishchiivka, Andriivka, and Krasnohorivka in Donetsk.

While Ukrainian authorities have yet to respond to these claims, independent verification remains challenging amidst the ongoing conflict.

Earlier this month, Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi commented on the deteriorating situation in the country's eastern front, attributing it to Russia's escalated offensive actions following Ukraine's recent presidential election.

Concerns have been raised about the Ukrainian military's ammunition shortages, impacting its ability to address the situation on the front line. However, hopes for resolution emerged with Washington's recent approval of a $60.8 billion aid package for Ukraine, aimed at bolstering its defense capabilities. (ILKHA)
