Al-Hayya stated on Saturday that Hamas had received the official response, which comes after the movement conveyed its position to mediators several days ago.

"We will carefully study the proposal and provide our response to the Egyptian and Qatari mediators once our evaluation is complete," al-Hayya added.

Sources within the Palestinian leadership disclosed to Al Mayadeen that Qatar had faced significant pressure from the United States and Israel in the past to influence Hamas regarding ceasefire negotiations in Gaza.

Last Tuesday, Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani hinted at Doha's ongoing evaluation of its mediation efforts, indicating potential complexities in the process.

Hamas has reportedly affirmed its commitment to Qatar's mediation and rejected any alternative proposals, emphasizing the importance of the ongoing negotiations.

Furthermore, the sources revealed that Washington had sought Türkiye's involvement in pressuring Hamas to adopt a more moderate stance during the negotiations. Hamas has welcomed Türkiye's role in the Palestinian issue.

These developments suggest ongoing efforts to navigate complex peace negotiations in the region. (ILKHA)
