The Foundation, which is organizing the event, initially requested free buses to transport attendees to the ceremony on Sunday, April 28th at Newroz Park. This request was initially rejected by the municipality.

Following public pressure, the municipality pledged to provide 26 vehicles. However, they later informed the Foundation that only 5 buses would be available.

In a written statement, the Foundation called this a broken promise and an insult to the people of Diyarbakır, considering the large number of people expected to attend the event.

They further criticized the municipality for prioritizing transporting people to a recent football match with municipal buses, while neglecting the religious celebration.

Adding to the frustration, the Foundation emphasized the lack of formal communication from the municipality throughout the entire process. All explanations and changes in plans, they emphasized, were relayed verbally, with no official written documentation provided.

The Foundation expressed profound disappointment with the municipality's decision, particularly considering the cultural and religious significance of Mawlid al-Nabi in Diyarbakır. The event serves as a major gathering for the city's residents to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad. The Foundation argued that the municipality's failure to allocate sufficient resources for such an important occasion reflected poorly on their commitment to serving the public.

In light of the situation, the Prophet's Lovers Foundation issued a call to action. They urged the people of Diyarbakır and all those devoted to the Prophet to come together in a spirit of solidarity to ensure the success of the Mawlid al-Nabi event. They specifically requested the assistance of those who own vehicles to help transport attendees to the ceremony at Nevroz Park.

The controversy surrounding the bus allocation has cast a shadow over the upcoming Mawlid al-Nabi celebrations in Diyarbakır. It remains to be seen how this dispute will be resolved and whether the municipality will take any steps to address the concerns raised by the Prophet's Lovers Foundation. (ILKHA)
