Turkish President Erdogan meets Iraqi counterpart to address key issues

The leaders discussed a range of issues, including bilateral relations between Türkiye and Iraq, Israel's attacks on Gaza, regional and global issues, and the fight against terror.

Erdoğan expressed Türkiye's expectations from Iraq regarding the fight against the PKK, emphasizing that Iraq needs to be cleared of all forms of terror. He also noted the importance of restoring relations between Baghdad and the Northern Iraq Regional Government for Iraq's stability and ensuring that the Turkmens reach the status they deserve.

Erdoğan further stated that the steps taken by Türkiye and Iraq in cooperation in the coming period will contribute to regional development and welfare. He pointed out that efforts to stop Israeli oppression in Gaza continue, expressing that Muslim countries should act in unity during this process.
