Turkish President hosts Egyptian Foreign Minister to discuss regional affairs

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry, in Istanbul to discuss various bilateral and regional matters, including the recent developments in Israel's attacks on Gaza.

The meeting, which took place at the behest of the Turkish presidency, delved into the ongoing tensions between Turkey and Egypt, as well as broader global and regional issues.

Erdoğan underscored the pressing need to address the escalating tensions resulting from Israel's relentless assaults on the Palestinian people. He expressed concerns over the potential spillover of conflicts into the wider region if the situation is not swiftly addressed.

Highlighting the significance of de-escalating tensions between Israel and Iran to prevent further destabilization, Erdoğan called for concerted efforts among Islamic nations to promote peace and stability.

Furthermore, President Erdoğan stressed the imperative of employing rationality and strategic foresight to achieve a lasting solution in the region. He emphasized the urgent need for an immediate and enduring ceasefire, coupled with uninterrupted humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza, to halt Israel's aggressive actions.

Accompanying Erdoğan at the meeting were high-ranking officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Director of the National Intelligence Organization İbrahim Kalın, Presidency's Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun, Chief Advisor on Foreign Policy and Security Ambassador Akif Çağatay Kılıç, and Chief Advisor to the President Sefer Turan.
