The Ministry made the announcement on its social media accounts, stating that the PKK/YPG terrorists were "neutralized" in the Euphrates Shield region.

"Neutralized" is a term frequently used by Turkish authorities to describe militants who are killed or captured during operations.

The Euphrates Shield region was the target of a Turkish cross-border military operation conducted between August 2016 and March 2017. The stated aim was to clear the area of both PKK and ISIS militants.

The PKK is considered a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the United States, and the European Union. The group has been engaged in an armed conflict with the Turkish government for decades. (ILKHA)
