The announcement was made during the Eid celebration ceremony in the Gabar Mountain region of Şırnak.

"This is a day that will go down in history as the day we produced the most and the highest quality oil in Türkiye," said Bayraktar. "I congratulate our brothers and sisters working here."

The Minister also announced that Türkiye's total oil production has exceeded 100,000 barrels per day. "Şırnak is now clearly the oil city, the oil capital of Türkiye," he added.

The Minister recalled the goal set on New Year's Eve to reach 100,000 barrels per day by the end of 2024. "We are working day and night for this," he said. "Currently, we have realized this production in 33 wells. Our average production per well has exceeded 1200 barrels. Therefore, when we reach our target of 95 wells, we will have reached these figures by the end of the year."

This increase in production is particularly important for Türkiye as it seeks to reduce its dependence on foreign energy. "Our work here will continue uninterruptedly. We have new wells, new exploration wells. We will have new wells in Hakkari and on the border with Van this year. With the new discoveries we will make in them, these production figures will go much further," concluded Bayraktar. (ILKHA)
