The decision targets a range of products, including cement, steel, and iron construction materials. This action comes in response to Israel’s ongoing military offensive in Gaza.

The Türkiye Ministry of Trade issued a statement, declaring that these restrictions will remain in place until Israel declares an immediate ceasefire and ensures the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza. The ministry conveyed this message via social media channels, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.

On Monday, Türkiye’s attempt to airdrop aid to Gaza was thwarted by Israel, further escalating tensions between the two nations. Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan vowed swift reprisals against Israel, promising a measured response “step by step” and “without delay.”

Türkiye’s stance has been unwaveringly critical of Israel’s actions in Gaza. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has publicly labeled Israel a “terrorist state,” reflecting the gravity of the situation in the region. (ILKHA)
