The aid comes ahead of the Eid al-Fitr holiday, marking the end of Ramadan. The recipients are families displaced by the ongoing Tigray War, which began in 2020. Many of these families fled their homes in Harar and are now residing in the Koye, Feçe, and Kenteri districts of Addis Ababa.

Volunteers with the European Orphan Hand say the donated funds will provide much-needed relief to these families who have lost loved ones and struggled during the conflict. They emphasized the ongoing need for support to reach more families facing hardship.

Nizamettin Aygan, a volunteer with the organization, expressed the importance of the aid during this holy month. "Our work in Ethiopia continues," he said. "The large number of people seeking assistance demonstrates the immense need. We are grateful to the philanthropists whose donations make this support possible. May Allah accept their generosity during this Ramadan." (ILKHA)
