The event, fueled by the call to action from Izzettin El Kassam Brigades to not abandon the Palestinian cause, saw students gather in front of the Faculty of Dentistry. From there, they marched towards the student cultural center, their voices echoing with chants of solidarity.
The program commenced with a solemn recitation of the Quran by Rıfat Ablay, followed by a powerful press statement delivered by Ferhat Furkan Ak. Ak's words resonated with the crowd as he condemned the atrocities committed by "zionist gangs" against Palestinians in Gaza, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
He highlighted the immense suffering endured by Gazans, deprived of basic necessities like food and water during their iftar meals. Ak lamented the silence of the global community, especially the Islamic world, in the face of this ongoing persecution.
"We call upon Allah to hold accountable those who inflict this cruelty on our Palestinian brothers and sisters in Gaza, and those who turn a blind eye to their plight," Ak declared.
His statement went further, criticizing the "zionist savages" for not only attacking Gaza but also extinguishing the world's conscience. Ak condemned the inaction of world leaders, prioritizing materialistic gain over humanitarian intervention.
"The real victims are not those who perish from hunger, thirst, and lack of basic necessities in Gaza," Ak asserted. "The true victims are the governments and international actors who remain silent, condoning this injustice. They have forsaken their humanity in pursuit of profit. Where are those who claim to be humane? How long will this deafening silence endure? Isn't it time for decisive action?"
Ak emphasized that the zionist regime, emboldened by global indifference, continues to inflict suffering upon Gaza. He warned of the severe consequences awaiting those who support the oppressors and prioritize commercial interests over Islamic values.
"The events unfolding in Gaza represent a stark struggle between right and wrong, oppressor and oppressed, faith and disbelief, humanity and those who have lost their humanity," Ak proclaimed. "This is a moment of truth, where one's stance is revealed. Those who champion truth and faith, who stand for humanity, have unequivocally condemned this oppression. Unfortunately, the so-called civilized and modern world has exposed its dark underbelly, devoid of compassion, mirroring the brutality of past tyrants."
Ak fervently pleaded for divine intervention against the oppressors and those who remain silent in the face of suffering. He condemned the international community's empty expressions of concern through conferences, while failing to take concrete steps to alleviate the crisis.
"We raise our voices to Allah against those who inflict pain upon our brothers in Gaza and those who choose silence," Ak reiterated. "We plead with Allah to hold accountable those who watch idly by as a people perish from hunger and lack of resources. We condemn the hypocrites who side with the oppressors, mimicking their rhetoric."
The press statement served as a stark reminder of the immense human cost of the conflict. Ak revealed the staggering number of casualties – over 32,000 martyrs and 75,000 wounded – a chilling testament to the ongoing violence. He painted a disturbing picture of bodies buried under rubble, inaccessible due to the ongoing occupation.
Ak condemned the practice of organ trafficking by the Zionist regime, further amplifying the sense of outrage amongst the participants.
"In the face of such barbarity, the Islamic world must unite and act as one," Ak urged. "We implore the entire Islamic world and all humanity to rise as a wave of conscience and compassion, forming a united front against these enemies of Islam and humanity – the zionist occupiers."
His call to action resonated strongly, demanding a swift and decisive response from Islamic leaders. Ak demanded an immediate opening of a humanitarian corridor to deliver aid to Gaza and a permanent ceasefire to be established before the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday.
The Dicle University students echoed Ak's sentiments, expressing their unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. They declared their unwavering commitment to the freedom of Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque, vowing to stand by their Muslim brothers and sisters with their lives, wealth, and children.
