The Director General of the Government Media Office (GMO), Ismail Al-Thawabta, said on Wednesday “the nightmare of famine in the northern Gaza Strip will continue unless aid is delivered in a sustainable manner.”

“Our people need aid to be brought into Gaza by land, air, and sea. The aid being brought in does not exceed 5% of the needs,” Al-Thawabta added in a press statement.

“We are in real pain seeing our people fell down as martyrs because of wrong airdropping of aid. We call on the countries of the world to bring in aid into the Gaza Strip in a safe way by air, land and sea,” he said.

Al-Thawabta warned that the Israeli occupation army intends, by bombing police cars and assassinating police officers, to spread chaos in the Strip.

Despite the continuous bombing of police cars, stations and officials, the Palestinian Interior Ministry is fighting to strengthen the home front and is performing its duties honorably despite the difficult circumstances, he added.

“We express our strong denunciation and condemnation of the crime of closing the crossings with Gaza. We call for overcoming the Israeli measures aimed at imposing its will on the Palestinian-Egyptian crossing,” he concluded. (ILKHA)
