Prior to the election, Bahçeli addressed the assembly, outlining his vision and plans for the party's future.

Registered upper board delegates then proceeded to cast their votes in 15 ballot boxes. Following the tally, Chairman of the Council Mevlüt Karakaya announced that all 1295 participating delegates had voted in favor of Bahçeli, ensuring his leadership for another term.

Bahçeli, born in 1948 in the southern province of Osmaniye, boasts a distinguished political career. He pursued his education in Istanbul and later attained higher degrees from scientific academies in Ankara.

His journey with the MHP began in 1987 when he became a board member of the Nationalist Task Party (MCP), which later evolved into the MHP. After the passing of its leader, Alparslan Türkeş, in 1997, Bahçeli assumed the chairmanship.

Notably, from 1999 to 2002, Bahçeli held the position of Deputy Prime Minister, further solidifying his role in Turkish politics. (ILKHA)
