According to reports, four airstrikes were launched using high-explosive missiles, hitting the western outskirts of the city. One of the strikes struck a civilian-owned poultry farm and sawmill, resulting in the casualties.

These airstrikes mark the first of their kind in 2024 and come after several days of increased activity by drones and Russian military aircraft in the area. Human rights organizations have documented the deaths of 37 civilians, including women and children, in the region this year alone.

The attack raises concerns about the ongoing conflict in Idlib, the last major rebel-held stronghold in Syria. The region has been subjected to intermittent airstrikes and shelling by Syrian and Russian forces, raising concerns about the safety of civilians. (ILKHA)
