Lulwa Al Khater, Qatar's Minister of State for International Cooperation, warned the UN Human Rights Council of the dire situation in Rafah, which has become a refuge for over 1.5 million displaced Palestinians.
She condemned Israel's threats to storm the city and accused them of committing "genocide" against Palestinians. Al Khater urged the international community to pressure Israel to comply with the International Court of Justice's ruling to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza and stop the ongoing violence.
Al Khater also criticized the potential defunding of the UNRWA, the UN agency supporting Palestinian refugees, calling it a "dangerous" step that could jeopardize the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Her speech highlighted Israel's alleged violations of international law and human rights, accusing them of targeting civilians, committing war crimes, and using collective punishment against Palestinians. She urged the international community to hold Israel accountable for its actions and take all necessary measures to protect Palestinian civilians. (ILKHA)
