The strikes came after the zionist military claimed that it had targeted weapons depots near the port city of Sidon.

Local sources reported several loud explosions near Ghaziyeh, south of Sidon, adding to the growing concerns of regional unrest. While Lebanese state media claimed the strikes targeted a car, conflicting reports from security sources suggested factories and warehouses in an industrial area were hit.

This attack marks a potential widening of the conflict zone, as israeli airstrikes typically focus on the southern border region with Lebanon. It follows last week's strikes in southern Lebanon, which drew harsh condemnation from Hezbollah leader Nasrallah who vowed retribution for civilian casualties.

In response to israeli strikes, Hamas launched an attack on Israel on Oct. 7, resulting in the deaths of 1,200 people and the capture of more than 250 hostages in the Gaza Strip, according to Zionist authorities. Palestinian health officials report that Israel's subsequent bombardment of Gaza has claimed over 28,000 lives. (ILKHA)
