According to initial investigations, the suspected militants, armed and numbering seven, abducted the labourers from Finboro Coalmine in Arunachal Pradesh's Changlang district, close to the Assam border. Four labourers managed to escape the abduction.
"At around 3 am, the armed militants held the labourers at gunpoint, taking 10 of them in a dumper to Old Longtoi, a remote area in Arunachal Pradesh," recounted the co-workers of the abducted labourers.
Tinsukia Superintendent of Police (SP) Gurav Abhijit Dilip stated that authorities are still working to confirm the exact number of people abducted by the militants.
This developing story underscores the challenges faced in combating militancy in the region. As the search intensifies, the hope is for the safe return of the abducted miners, while concerns about the broader implications of this incident for the community and the region remain significant. (ILKHA)
